I just started playing Psychonauts. I’m not very far into it, but so far all I can say is ‘what a wonderful, wonderful game’. It’s a lot of fun (if you can stand jumping puzzles), with just world-class art direction and the sort of humor you’d expect from Tim Schafer.

Sara sent me this link to Yoot Saito’s Odama. In this game, your city is besieged by enemy hordes so you respond by… building a giant pinball game and crushing your opponents with the hurtling silver projectile. The screenshots really have to be seen to be believed.

Finally, I feel I have to point out the announcement of Left Behind: The Game. It’s an RTS set in the days of the rapture, and according to the synopsis, gameplay centers on converting the secular to join your army of light for the express purposes of taking down the United Nations. Laugh if you want, but if I can lead the forces of Satan, assorted crustaceans and the one-world government in multiplayer mode, I’m so there.
