So, apparently, we’ve discovered the addiction that derailed Season 3 (thanks to MMODIG).

The fiancee asked me why gamers get so excited about Dave Chapelle and Curt Schilling. It’s the same reason I get a flutter whenever a Star Wars or Batman reference pops up in Foxtrot. It’s simple – we like to to see people who aren’t all-encompassed in games acknowledge their existence – favorably. After all, most video game references in the media is limited to crappy episodes of Law and Order. How much nicer it would be to, say, see Dave Chapelle on a stage talking shit about kill-stealers and Leroy Jenkins. I dare to dream.

And, might I say, Dave Chapelle’s a definite improvement in cool over Curt Schilling. Don’t get me wrong – Schilling’s a bona fide hero to me. But listen to one interview and you’ll know he’s kind of a dork like the rest of us hard-core gamers. That’s definitely not the sense you get from Dave.
