Speaking of what the kids are all hip about, I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that the Hot Topic at whatever local mall your neighborhood teenagers infest now sells World of Warcraft shirts and hats.
I don’t know what’s a better indicator of success: that, or the WoW-themed porn antics of Whores of Warcraft (not safe for work).
Tabula Rasa has released a new gameplay video on Stratics (here’s a direct link). I didn’t find this one nearly as compelling as their old video. I’m still very much hoping this will do well – it’s pretty important to the Austin dev scene that it succeed.
Also, TR has a MySpace page! That’s so very!
I feel compelled to point out this Eve Online story, found via Kotaku: A massive war between the two largest alliances in Eve has resulted in the first wartime use of their interplanetary nukes.
Most interestingly, Ascendant Frontier pulled out the big guns in their war against Band of Brothers. In fact, they pulled out the biggest gun, the Doomsday Weapon, which looks like a sort of solar-system sized nuke. But even more hilarious is that apparently, Ascendant Frontier missed, mostly killing a good chunk of their own guys. Check the video after the jump for what the Doomsday Weapon looks like in action.
The thread they link to on the Eve boards is comedy gold, if you can decipher the unique lingo the Eve community uses.
